My Favorite 2022 Wedding Photos

I'm very thankful for the 2022 year; it was a year where I began many projects and had beautiful couple's photo memories I want to share with you. Before I tell a little about my 2022 fav photos, capturing people's memories and epic moments of the most important day of their life is a privilege and blessing for me. Each gallery reflects each couple's individual story, personality, and love; it is something that we capture because we take our time to get to know each couple's love story. We would not show up to your big day improvising photos that have nothing to do with your love for each other.

Now, let's talk about these pics and the couples. First, I want to talk about Ashley and Albert. This couple has been together for a long time and has three beautiful kids. They decide to get married as a gift for their kids and their immense love for each other. The wedding took place at the Dorado Beach Ritz Carlton Hotel by the coordination of the Destination Wedding Planner, Madeline Valentin. The wedding got behind schedule because of the heavy Rain, and yes, everything got very tense, but fortunately, the couple had a great wedding team. Madeline got everything under control, and after the Rain, the whole schedule ran smoothly, and the bloc accomplished every part of the wedding without a problem.

This pic was a natural moment when the couple was declared husband and wife. Why is it one of my favorites? Because it is a raw moment that shows the love and passion they have for each other. You can see Albert's hands grabbing Ashley's face to kiss her passionately and crazily. You probably might be thinking, "well, this is something that happens at every wedding," and you are right, but this photo represents the essence of their family, which was pronouns on each other vows. It is the meaning behind it; I hope the couple sees it the same way as me.

Now, we have Susanna and Andres; what an incredible couple. This beautiful multicultural wedding had Latin and Chinese roots. Sussana celebrated her Chinese inherited with the tea ceremony and Andres, his Puerto Rican and Cuban roots, with a tender Lechón Asado(roast pig)and a lot of salsa music. All this took place at the one and only Condado Vanderbilt Hotel in San Juan. The ceremony was on a terrace before the beautiful open sea with a great sunny day. After the ceremony, we did our traditional Location Portrait around the hotel where I took this picture. If you've never been to Vanderbilt, you're missing one of the historical places in Puerto Rico. When you enter this venue, you will see the symbolic stairs that go in a semi-circle up to the second story. I used a wide lens for this picture to capture almost the hallway in front of me and the chandeliers. You can see all the beautiful architecture of the hotel, and Sue and Andres are tiny in comparison; this environmental pic style is one that I enjoy creating.

If we have to pick our most fun extrovert fun couple between all the couples, we have photographed Phuie and Beatriz are the winner by far. This couple came from California to Hacienda Siesta Alegre to celebrate their wedding. The groom has his roots in the Philippines, and Beatriz is from Ecuador, so why Puerto Rico? Well, Beatriz's grandmother was from Puerto Rico and wanted to honor her present by celebrating her day in a Hacienda next to the Rain Forrest. About this picture, I could look like a posed photo, but it is not; it is a nice candid moment of them while doing the first dance. The first dance is one of the essential parts of the wedding, and it is a moment where the couple connects after the ceremony and gift their guest a welcome to their celebration. Therefore, we as a photographer have to make sure not only are these photos part of the photo collections but that it reflects the essence of the couple; these photos represent the vibes and love that Beatriz and Phuie have for each other.

A song from a salsa singer in Puerto Rico says, "Y todo comenzó Bailando" in English, "Everything has begun dancing," and that is how Valeria and Gabriel meet each other. They went to a salsa class one day without knowing that day they would run into the love of their life. After that, Valeria and Gabriel enjoy traveling worldwide and spending time with Tarzán, their beautiful dog. Their wedding occurred at the Hyatt Place in Miramar, an excellent place for awesome urban photos; that is what we did. We went around the hotel and streets and took our time to take some lovely pictures. This photo, in particular, was taken using the vale as an element in front of the couple; I took advantage of the backlight provoked by the sun to get a pleasant warmth. Without a doubt, we had a great afternoon that helped us with this pic. Of course, the picture reflects Valeria and Gabriel's love for each other; you can see the little smile and the complicity on their faces, which I can not pose, but we make it happen when I remind them something about their love story.

Last but not least, we have Edgardo and Laura. This couple also has a unique love story. They both have a friend in common, and Laura prepares a surprise birthday party for her friend and invites some amigos of her friend, where Edgardo is included. They started talking about basketball and found out they chanted for a different team; Edgardo is a Lakers fan, and Laura is a Golden State fan. Of course, they make fun of each other with this difference, but their profound love is more contagious than COVID-19.

Their wedding took place at the fabulous El Convento Hotel. This historical and emblematic hotel is found at the center and heart of the Old San Juan in front of the majestic Catedral. After the ceremony at one of the hotel's terraces, we went for some location portraits around the Old San Juan and inside the hotel; this is why I have two favorite photos, one taken at the Old San Juan streets and the other one inside the hotel.

The first photo is a natural and candid moment I captured when Laura was fixing Edgardo's shirt and tie right after the officiant declared them husband and wife.

The second photo was taken in the Convento lobby. Laura says she wants a shot under the lovely chandeliers in the majestic hall. Say no more; let's go there and create something spectacular; I believe we did.
